Olivia Rodrigo was the chanteuse of vaccine summer. She was a symbol of youth and vitality and most importantly, the future. Hers was the first piece of media that we would celebrate outside, and in bars, and with the general public. She rose to prominence outside her Disney realm in the previous bleak midwinter. We loved her piano ballad when it was cold and dark and we were ready to celebrate like emotionally violatile teenagers with her Pop punk inspired album that was at least partially outside of the Disney sphere.
