I can’t decide what my favorite song is and it is a decision rather than an overwhelming feeling of excitement. I like the narrative thrust of the album, break up songs that could be about either man she was connected with last year; with different love stories depending on which songs you string together as part of which narrative. Though as fans we are not supposed to do that anymore, at least not publicly. There’s stuff to grab onto but it’s not the best of her career nor is any of it particularly fun. It is neither the genius of her best nor the silliness that some appreciate nor the necessary evil of Me!. It’s something new.
