November In List
Dakota aka @printfairy
Dakota is my personal favorite Tiktokker, this month and every month. I love Dakota and his husband Jackson and their Friday night meals. I’m of course an Emily and Brandon stan as well. It is one of the simple pleasures of TikTok to watch them and their friends tell me what they got for dinner. They seem like they are having a lot of fun and most importantly like they don’t wake up the next morning with killer hangovers, or at least we don’t see that part of their night. I can think of no other way to describe these sweet southern boys than good clean fun. An always enjoyable weekly video to cut through the fluff.
Lisa Bae aka @LisabExpierence
An artist. A visionary. The voice of a generation. Lisa Bae has perfected the white corporate millennial leading a meeting. Everything about this performance is stunning. The way she stands, the measured way she moves her hands in attempt to be loose. All of the character’s failed attempts to be funny and inviting. After pouring over the videos with the voice put on, I forget that her real voice does not sound anything like the character, making the performance all the more impressive. I want to say you could get lost in these videos but the voice is so grating and annoying and familiar that I often have to turn the videos off. It’s a compliment to her talent that the videos are almost unwatchable because they’re too accurate.
Jacob Soule aka @theplantprodigy
TikTok is made for hobbyists. It’s made for people to share their interests and grow a community. Plant prodigy is one of the best on there, giving accurate and interesting information on plants and how to take care of them. I have never called myself a plant mom and know that I can barely take care of myself, let alone a plant, but if I ever wanted or needed any guidance I would turn to the plant prodigy. My favorite part is the unconventional solutions he comes ups with or endorses on his page. Putting your plants in the bathtub and letting them experience rain is good for them! It also helps get rid of bugs! If you have ever thought about owning a plant, you need to follow the plant prodigy.
Jordan Pack aka jordanpackitup
This one is pure trend reporting. The kid has 100k followers and it’s only growing. There’s a lot of people trying to dunk on all the bad recipes on TikTok and so far this kid seems to be the most successful without having any actual kitchen training. He gives no insight on the cooking her just makes fun of it. Honestly that might be better because it seems the people in the videos he finds don’t have any kitchen training either. I cannot get him off my For You page and I know that he will be there for at least a few more months.
Madi aka @simpingforpudgy
To quote several other people on TikTok, “That dog hates her” and she does. Pudgy is not the aforementioned dog, that’s Madi. Pudgy is dead. Madi and her mom are learning to get along in the absence of Pudgy and its not going well. I hate dogs and love talking shit the only videos that show up for me are the ones of people explaining everything the dog does that means she hates her owner. Madi is In this month because she’s the talk of the town. It’s time to get in the ground floor of the shit talking while there’s still new shit to talk. Maybe offer the girl some suggestions on how to get the dog to at least calm down a little bit.
Duolingo aka @duolingo
Listen, I don’t want to wholeheartedly endorse a company’s mascot. I know this is all some part of PR move to prevent me from googling Duolingo racist or Duolingo union or something of that ilk. I’ve been around too long to fall for it…. but that owl is pretty funny. I’m still not gonna finish learning French on their app though. Enjoy this while it lasts because it simply will not last long. The scandal is coming, it's just a matter of when. Corporations are not your friends, and that includes the Duolingo Owl.
Anastasia Garcia aka @_anastasiagarcia_
Anastasia asked the question that needed to be asked, is there any part of TikTok that does not have drama? She found very quickly that the answer is in fact, no. Any subsection of any community has drama. All they needed to spill it all was to be asked. This woman is the center of the chaos and brings it all to her captive audience. She has since branched out from hobbyist drama to her own hot takes. Her opinions are just as good as her questions. Become a fan now before she’s taken over the whole app.
Ann Russell aka @annrussell03
Ann Russell cuts through the filth that is cleantok. Ann is a stern English woman with an overall kind demeanor who tells her audience in the nicest way possible we’re doing it all wrong. She breaks down what is enough, what is too much, and what is the best device for the job. There are a lot of people who try to fill a mom role on TikTok but no one’s information is better than Ann. She teaches us things our mothers probably don’t even know. Go to Anne with all your cleaning needs and not the women who uses 8 different soaps to clean their sinks every week.
Out
Noodle, The No Bones Pug
If you are still on the Bones beat, you are behind the times. We’re moving on. The longer you stay on this the more heartbroken you will be when the pug dies. Get out not while the getting is good.
