Rapture
Nothing makes us nonbelievers laugh quite like the idea of the rapture. There’s no bigger set up and no flatter punch line. It’s almost too easy. Almost. Even the best and brightest among us can’t resist when presented with the idea of only the good being taken except the good in this case are the crazy people actively ruining our country. Of course this didn’t take off as a meme until a few people who like to keep an eye on the crazy christians of this world told the rest of us. We then made it a sensation. In other circumstances, there might be cooler heads telling us not to provoke these people but come on, a rapture? In 4 days? It’s just a hard sell. These things take time. It’s why the mormons don’t talk about their crazy ideas anymore because they want to at least try to seem normal. It started on TikTok where almost everyone is one FYP tarot reading away from religious psychosis but it found it’s strength on twitter, the left behinds of the internet. Our rapture already happened and the good people left long ago.
Tylenol causes Autism
Americans love Tylenol. It provides 70% of medical care in this country. Vaccines we could give or take but Tylenol is a bridge too far. Obviously this is bad for all the usual reasons I’m sure you already know, but the meme response shows a universal love of one of our favorite over the counter medications. Vaccines are every so often and not something we think about every day. Tylenol is a daily companion, freely given in offices, schools, and between strangers on the street. We remember when Tylenol was there for us in all our darkest moments. It’s a hard battle to be fought and I’m sorry, I’m choosing Big Pharma every time.

Bad Bunny in English is lame and sexless but in a way that makes you understand just how cool and sexy he is in Spanish. Not that proof was needed. I think we all understood he was a unique talent whose identity and background could not be removed from his star persona but in case you didn’t! In english it comes off as unbridled excitement that is not cool at all. This is the voice of the frat boy in my head every time I have one single sip of alcohol.

Like any great work of art this is open to interpretation. To me, “Girl Whatever” against a beautiful overwhelming background is an acceptance of both the endless beauty of the world around us but also like... whatever. It’s all gonna be ok or it won’t. It’s majesty without positivity. Sometimes we need to stop being so obsessed with trying to make ourselves feel better and instead make ourselves feel neutral. Girl. Whatever.
