Memefourm was featured in the New York Times!!! I spoke about Freedom of Speech and managed to not sound like a total moron!
Also, I'm seeing a lot of fall posting and I need everyone to get with the program. We still have two more months of summer. We never decided on a coherent summer aesthetic which means we revert to Heartland Suburban Summer, if I remember the rules correctly. Romanticize your local ice cream place cause that's the farthest you're traveling.
Kamala Posting
As of right now, it looks like we could meme Kamala into the White House. What felt impossible a week ago is now feeling like a real chance. I’ve never seen a meme more genuine in my life. We’ve lost all ironic detachment because we want it so badly. I didn’t know it was possible. Of course, People are still pretending they don’t want this or their memes are all jokes but I saw last week's panic and despair. This is sincere and in a week, when everything is clear, you’ll all pretend it wasn’t. But I’ll know. We want this more than anything else right now.
Hawk Tuah
I’ve been monitoring the Hawk Tuah situation for two weeks now. It seems to have taken a certain corner of the internet by storm. Many will say “Not my internet!” but they’re not recognizing the spillover. I try to dip a toe in all relevant internet communities and that means keeping an eye on the Barstool-verse and there are plenty of things that never end up on our side of the internet. Things I don’t tell the rest of you about because it wouldn’t serve you to know. Hawk Tuah girl is impressive because she has broken through.
But why has she broken through? Well in that part of the world, they still go crazy for a woman talking frankly and openly about sex. Mostly because she gives them a kind of passive permission. Frat boys can talk openly about their desires because it’s a girl who said it first. Many will argue that they did not need this pass but enough Frat boys have girlfriends who work in marketing to know they needed somewhat of an image rebrand. They have become self-conscious enough to not joke openly about blow jobs on the internet where everyone else can see. But when a girl says it? When they can uplift a woman’s voice? Well, maybe just this once.
Just a Girl Food
New levels of boredom in the “I’m just a girl” era. These posts are unoriginal and stupid and half of them are promoting anorexia. That being said, the other half are posting way too much food. Most post a single cracker and a martini as a form of “girl breakfast” or some other nonsense. Others post whole trays of pastries. It’s just funny to me that they’re trying to promote these unhealthy chemical-filled diets where people don’t eat that much, except for 4 chocolate croissants every morning. This subculture had really strong branding up until this meme, which feels like the death of something. Thank God!
The Wizard
The Wizard is the antithesis of Hawk Tuah. A meme with no overlap between communities that illustrates how annoying both of them are. I am not charmed by a grown man dressing up as a wizard and trying to get behind the line at various stores in the mall. It’s no one's best work.
Dua Lipa
We talk a lot about authenticity in pop stars and for so many this means bearing their soul to us. Dua Lipa is one of the most authentic and honest pop stars we have. She doesn’t like random guys coming up to her and singing their songs and is not going to hide it. She will politely listen but she will not lie. What more can we ask for?

The Family Guy renaissance continues. TikTok can’t get enough of Stewie Griffin. There is a truth to his character that we can’t help but appreciate. This particular sound is all about putting on a little show. Give the people what they want. This sound has about a 60% success rate. The other 40% is filled with people hiding their problematic opinions in group settings. The TikTok algorithm prevents me from seeing teenagers defending their right to be republicans in group conversations most of the time but when I do my research, there they are, defending their right to be callous.

It is fascinating to watch a new generation have to contend with how long the internet lasts. People younger than myself, now going into college realizing they have a legacy. Their very explicit fanfiction has a life they cannot control and now they have to coexist. My favorite part about all of this is that they don’t know there’s a stage after this one, where they forget. Or they go back. After the period of cringe, one must either move on or return to the world of fan fiction. Seize the moment, or become someone new,
