The Way I Don't Talk About the Grammys
ICYMI, I reflected on doing this newsletter for 5 years, but mostly wrote about the future because IDGAF about the past. Were not going that way!
Emma Stone Gif
Shes got a face for gifs! My generation’s movie stars, Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence, have been able to find and maintain success by giving their bodies and personalities over to the internet. They are in the fabric of the whole thing, and while they were certainly trying, sometimes they aren’t. Bugonia is an ok movie without any real fans, but Emma Stone’s weird little face is magnetic in that special way that translates to gifs. She may not have the glamour and panache of Julia Roberts, but that would be lost on Millennials anyway. She’s the perfect girl for the moment. She is loved in her time in our way, and that’s all you can ask for.
Olive Oil Resume
We used to make fun of LinkedIn posting without having to rub shoulders with those people. Now those kinds of posts are organic to the website. I don’t want to talk about the people who pay for Twitter so they can talk about resumes and business to think that any of this is good-natured or that they are in on the joke. The olive oil resume doesn’t have enough meat for people to get mean, which is what I need. It’s funny the same way the most annoying person you know can be funny when you’re on hour 5 of being around them

American Figure Skating at the Olympics
YES YES YES!!! It’s figure skating time!!! I love the narrative around this year’s team. There are 3 girls, and they call themselves the Blade Angels, which is so fun, because it means nothing. The main girl I’m paying attention to is Alysa Liu. She was the youngest ever U.S. women’s national champion at 13, and then she retired from figure skating in 2022, when she was 16. Now she’s back at 20 on her own terms with a fun and funky haircut. I love that. I also love Amber Glenn, the 25-year-old who is considered geriatric for the sport and wears a pride pin. I also like the third girl, Isabeau Levito, their boring Italian friend. I love that figure skating has gone girlboss barista chic. It’s about time! I’m so excited to watch them skate and see what theyre going to say. It’s finally time we got some firecrackers!
Ann Michael Maye Update!

I do not care about football unless it benefits the narrative of Taylor Swift or the great region of New England. The Patriots are back in the Super Bowl, and I’m remembering what it feels like to be a winner again. I remember the Tom Brady years, when the queen of New England was the most beautiful woman alive, but times have changed, and the queen of New England is the most normal woman alive, Ann Michael Maye. Ann Michael is not good at the larger-than-life influencer schtick that most WAGs go for. Instead, she updates us about her cooking and crafting projects. This whole thing feels like something that just happened to her, and she’s doing her best to let us know what’s going on with her. The video of her talking to her husband after winning the AFC East is so funny because she sounds like a girl trying to find her friends as they’re leaving the bar, which in a way she is. She has an undersung talent in the online space. She makes the extraordinary seem normal, which is a breath of fresh air while everyone else is trying to sell us that their slightly above-average life is worth copying.
Who is your favorite WAG? Don’t yell at me for saying WAG.
Edit of the Week
Let’s assume I’ve seen every edit. I haven’t, but I’ve seen most of them. I know the form well, and what I’m looking for is something new. This piques my interest because I love the Sundance Cinema of the late 90s/Early 2000s. I feel like anyone who loves the films that fall into this genre was conscripted into doing free advertising for them for life. I want to recognize the work of my fellow Drop Dead Gorgeous warriors. It would be easy to make an edit of this film to your classic Olivia Rodrigo, Brittney Spears, and Taylor Swift options, but I love spin. Let’s dig into some thematic relevance. Let’s throw some Tyler Childers in there. It’s not revolutionary, but it’s two things that are off the beaten path enough that putting them together makes for the best edit I saw this week.
Biscoff Cheesecake

Everyone in the whole world needs to calm down about this. It’s cookies and yogurt. It is as healthy as cookies and yogurt. It is as bad for you as cookies and yogurt. It is easier to make than cheesecake because it is simply putting cookies in yogurt.

Have you seen any of the "Nutella tricks you’re never taught in school" posts? It's taken over my Twitter feed, and I've even seen offshoots about caramel boiling, among other things. It's been very enjoyable!
