Originally I was not going to cover this because it's not a typical meme. It was just a news story we were all talking about. In recent days though we have developed a new shorthand. We need only see a picture of Nancy and we know what people are talking about. She has earned herself a specific place in the pantheon of people we can post without captions and know exactly what is implied. This meme really earned its place. It cut through the discourse about it and is still funny days later. Many wrongly spearheaded an attack against this fact, saying it was slut shaming. If anything it was slut congratulating. Recognizing one of history’s greatest sluts for her achievements, now that she was rotting in hell for unrelated reasons. Once her legacy survived the weekend, no one could tell us that this was Not Funny. We can finally crown Nancy the throat goat in perpetuity. Unless of course there’s some things about Mamie Eisenhower we have yet to learn.
Aaron Sorkin Doesn’t Have Social Media So He Asked Me To Post This
We’ve been called into the principal's office after the assembly. We made fun of the jazz ensemble too much and have to atone for it. The lighthearted joking we all did was Not Funny and we should be ashamed. Of course everyone had to make a meme of this but no one really did it well. Nothing took off or was really that funny. A meme of obligation that could only exist on Twitter. We had really sifted out the normal people. This meme was only interesting to people who 1) watch succession 2) read (or skimmed) the profile on Jeremy Strong and 3) care enough about Aaron Sorkin enough to yell at him. A meme for middle brow pseudo-intellectuals who, despite what they think of themselves, are not our best and brightest meme makers or contributors.
Time Person Of The Year
We do this every year. I have to say this year was one of our weakest showings. Mostly because Time gave us nothing to work with. We’re all funnier when they choose something or someone weird. When they make it two people or a group of people or someone really out of left field. Elon Musk feels past his prime and also like a phoned in answer. We couldn’t even be bothered to give realistic joke answers like Olivia Rodrigo or The Cuomo Brothers or The Boss Baby. Everyone just threw in someone in a “good enough” way. Also was it just me or was the graphic design this year especially bad? Both on the real magazine and in the meme version. I get that photoshop can be a little difficult but spice it up a little next time. Give it a filter and a background.

Don’t Make Unnecessary Journeys
This sound would have gone so hard in March 2020. It doesn’t hit the same in December 2021 but the feeling is still there. It also allows for more creativity. When else would we not want to make unnecessary journeys? Covid related or not. My favorite part of this meme is that it sounds like its a riddle or a blessing from a fairy tale. I can’t believe this woman came up with this off the dome. Unnecessary journeys? Treacherous roads? Swim in the Sea? I wouldn’t classify anything I do in those words but that’s more a fault of my word choice and perspective than my lack of ambition. Now that I have that mindset I will avoid treacherous roads, the oracle on TikTok told me to.
A perfect sound for anyone with ordering anxiety. However you all are being too hard on yourselves. The original girl was trying to be polite and was hit with a curveball. She had to think fast and what she said was fine. It’s a good thing she has a sense of humor and understands that everyone under this sound found her relatable, but I don’t think this is a moment that really needed to be memed. Sure it’s not an amazing response but it’s not that weird or awkward. The sound itself is filled with girls pretending to be their future daughter asking if they’ll look their moms but they won’t because they has plastic surgery, which is a bizarre direction for this sound to say the least.
Just Got The Location For My Mission Trip
This sound has multiple parts to it. One, people actually doing their mission trip reveal. Fine. Two, people pretending to do a mission trip reveal. I don’t love these because I think if we’re going to make fun of Evangelical Christians, we should do it accurately and well. The meme versions are fine but don’t really cut down deep. Third, we have every lesbian on TikTok at the same time going, the girl singing sounds hot, let’s see if i’m right and then deciding to voice that opinion either in the comments or via duet. This leads to the church(I think? I’m not really sure what Circuit Riders is) that originally posted the song to turn off comments and duets for all their videos featuring this one girl. Now, we’re the wlws thirsting a little too close to the sun and maybe perhaps being a little too weird in the comments? I don’t know because they were all turned off before I could see them. But this seems like a better way to deal with the evangelicals than a joke that doesn’t really make sense. The mere mention of being gay seems like it would get you an instant block from the Circuit Riders account but in the psychological warfare battle of evangelicals versus gay ex-evangelicals saying the cool one looks like a lesbian and also I had a crush on my worship leader (whatever that is) seems to be doing some real damage. Keep it up.
There’s yet another artist on tiktok trying to have a hit song. There are mixed reviews on this most recent entry but I think we should give her a shot. I’ve actually read notes on camp so I can say with some authority that this song is actually approaching camp more so than any other thing we’ve deemed camp this year. Even if you don’t agree, this song is fine and doesn’t warrant sending a 17 year old death threats. Most importantly I think xoBrooklynne is interesting and doing something with the all pink mean girls bimbo aesthetic that at the very least is not as clean and polished as the other girls. There’s cracks in the foundation and you can see her desire to be seen as the prom queen but she lacks the popularity to actually achieve that. She’s weird in a way she can’t scrub off and you can see her trying. Also I think the lyric “POV you’re trying to get me cancelled” is fun and funny.
It’s So Bad I Want To Give You A Zero
As I’ve said before, accurate self criticism is good. Taking the time to look back on past mistakes and cringe a little will make you better in the long run. We also need self compassion. Though we want to rate ourselves as a Zero, the rules say we can’t. Even the Tyra Banks in our minds must follow the rules of the game she is the executive producer of. Also I love seeing people say “yes this was truly a bad era about a time in their lives.” and show an embarrassing picture of themselves. It shows they’re over it a little bit. It’s best to not be so precious about one’s self image that you can’t show the world how ugly you used to be. How else will we know there was a glow up?
I know I had bad things to say about the “Slay, Literally traumatizing” sound but at least that one had variety. This one is just things that are either good or bad and usually the examples are so similar that we don’t need to go through every “work of art” or “bullshit”... we get the idea.
