It’s no secret that the music industry and TikTok have a mutually beneficial relationship that makes everyone who’s not making money off the deal incredibly frustrated. The consequences for the plebians are disastrous. We have several people trying to make a career by trying to go viral, writing songs that sound better sped up, and charts being dominated by 2-minute snippets of songs. It’s even worse when TikTok popularity translates to real-life fame. We’ve all heard a TikTok song in public and likened the experience to a psychic attack.
